I Charles Harris of the Township of Kingston Cuunty of Luzerne State of Pennsylvania. Being of sound mind and enjoying a good degree of bodily health far above many of my years and knowing the uncertainty of human life and feeling desirous to settle and dispose of my worldly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit viz:

First and principally I commend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be interred at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and to such earthly property as it hath pleased God to bless me with I desire to dispose of as follows

I direct that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid as soon after my death as possible by my son Hiran Harris one of my executors hereinafter named.

I give and bequeath to my son Hiram Harris and his heirs for his faithful and kind attention to me and his mother thus far in our old age the farm with all its imporvements on which we now live in said Kingston Township bounded as follows

Bounded at the Spring run corner of Chester Harris south along line of Daniel Williamson thence east along line of Elisha Harris about 60 rods thence south on line of Elisha Haris about 40 rods to Jacob Hefts corner on land he bought of my son William Harris, thence about east along the ledge agreed upon by me and Jacob Heft, thence with along Jacob Hefts line and line of Hiram Harris' land he bought of Jacob Heft to the corner made by Jacob Heft at or near the road leading to Carvers fence our house thence on line of Chester Harris as laid down in his deed to the place of beginning. Containing One hundred acres more or less in consideration of which I direct that my son Hiram is to see that his mother is well and comfortably provided for as she has been accustomed to be having the free use of the house, cellar, garden, orchard, barn & two or three cows welll kept summer and winter plenty of fuel made ready for the fire, in short to be dealt with an provided for as she now is as far as possible to have the interest annually that may acrue from the money that is now invested in the hands of William Church or whose hands it may be in after or at the time of my decease to enjoy the above interest money as long as my well beloved wife Martha may live and then at her death the money which is eight hundred dollars to be divided as follows

I desire that my executors pay to my daughter Susanna Newman one hundred and fifty dollars

to my daughter Sylvina Heft one hundred and fifty dollars

to my daughter Sarah Harris Five hundred dollars to be paid as soon as it can be reasonable collected and further my desire is that my daughter Sarah live with her mother as she now does and have the same priveleges so long as mother lives and further so long as said Sarah continues single after the death of her mother. My desire and will is that she have the free use of the two bed rooms up Stairs use of the kitchen and the cellar as far as she may need, fuel for her comfort provided one cow kept summer and winter one third of the garden fruit out of the orchard for her comfort and these priveleges to continue as long as she continues single and no longer my sons Elisha Harris, Daniel Harris, William Harris and Chester Harris I have already by deed and otherwise given them of my property that I have been blest with thus feeling that I have helpt them to the utmost of my ability they must not feel after my decease that I had either slighted or forgot them.

An I do hereby make and ordain my sons Hiram Harris & Elisha Harris Executors to this my last will and testament
In Witness whereof I Charles Harris the testator have to this my will written one one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one (My son Elisha Harris to have twenty five dollars for his trouble as Executor)
